Gillian Price
Owner & Principle Designer
I have had the privilege of being apart of the most important day in couples lives for over 30 years. I can't remember a time or day that I was not thinking of designing wedding concepts, improve the wedding planning process or how best to coordinate all of the moving parts of a wedding day. Someone once asked me what I like the best about my job. My answer; The Look! It's when the groom turns to see his beautiful glowing bride for the first time. Its such an intimate moment when everyone around them fades away and they only see each other. It is that one instant in time when you witness love at it's finest.
Over those 30 years I have managed 100's of weddings and have seen many changes in the industry. The size of weddings started to reduce and no longer did we see 500 person weddings with a full sit down dinners. Couples were becoming more focused on what was important to them and not on frivolous things that brought no value to their day while succumbing to overspending, but rather a promise of love, commitment and partnership.
It is because of this change I decided to re-exam traditional weddings and wondered how I could offer a fresh approach to what is more often than not, stressful, time consuming and expensive. Specializing on the development of intimate wedding ceremonies as an art form appealed to me and has proven to be a great fit.
Why the name Vogue & Rogue Weddings? I wanted the name to convey that our services are in Vogue, stylish, and creative while providing a different approach for those brave Rogue couples that want something that is uniquely theirs without having to compromise on details that matter.
The last 30 years has been a tremendous amount of hard work allowing me to gain the experience to offer what I believe to be a very unique wedding experience. Looking back on all those hours of making floral bouquets, buying fabrics and furniture, designing parade floats, dressing windows, relying on friends and family members who helped without being paid, working all through the night in the garage to make sure everything was ready for the wedding the next day. A lot of sweat equity and support from my husband who helped and encouraged me to do what I love. I am so very grateful.
Cheers Gillian
I did not choose to be in the wedding business - it chose me
